An employee is a crucial asset to the organization. The organization needs to manage people for a successful outcome of the organization. managing people is the process of building employees for achieving organizational objectives. Because the employee is a key driver of the organization (Drucker, 2013). all resources are maintained by the employee of the organization. in this report, there are many HR models are addressed for the HR department of the organization. Jobsite farm is a production and distribution organization in the UK. It sells the food online. Recently organizational productivity decreased and the organization improves its productivity through the AMO hr model and the HR value chain model. Standard casual model etc. in this report prepared based on Jobsite farm and recommended model for developing productivity.
The employee is the key asset of the organization. Because they are the driver of organizational success. All resources are operated by the employee. And HR is the department of the organization that maintains the employee. In this report, Jobsite farm is the organization that produces foods and sells directly to customers through online orders. Duringthe covid pandemic, its product demand increased and the organization needs to more products that’s why the organization had to recruit new employees of the organization. the organization recruits employees through online interviews (Ulrichand Dulebohn, 2015). After collecting employees the productivity of the organization decreased because of the poor productivity of new employees.
Employee is the heart of the organization. so the organization needs to recruit employees by following some criteria. and selecting employees by different tests such as written, experience, interview, and physical tests. Jobsite farm recruits employeesthroughan online interview that’s why quality employees the organization can not collect.
The organization needsto introduce the work of the organization to the employee through training. Josita farm does not arrange proper training for the employee that’s why the organizational productivity decreased continuouslyBriscoe et al., 2012).
The organization faces low productivity because of a green employee of the organization. because the employee is the driver of p[the productivity of the organization.
When customers do not get products within time and proper quality service they switch to other companies. Because customers want good qualities products within a time.
Due to low-quality products and appropriate services the organization lost its popularity in the market. that influence the long-term effect of the organization (Hortobagyi et al., 2016).
HR is the department of the organization recruiting employees of the organization. there are lots of HR models and theories that are followed by the organization (Mathieu et al., 2014). by those model an organization increase productivity of the organization. in this report, two HR models are presented.
The AMO model is an HR model that examines HR techniques that promote ability, motivation, and opportunity to explain the link between HR practices and performance. It emphasizes the three distinct work system factors that shape employee traits and influence organizational growth (Demortier et al., 2014). HR experts may assess an individual's performance based on their ability, motivation, and opportunity.
There are three pillars of the AMO HR model they are ability, motivation, and opportunities. The three pillars of the AMO model are presented below:
Ability is the capacity that an employee can handle the work in the organization. the employee of the organization can gain abilities before joining the organization and after joining (Almutawa et al., 2016). The organization can increase employee ability through training. Jobsite farms can increase the employee’s ability through training. the organization can provide practical training such as online-based and producing products.
Motivation is the influencer of increasing the productivity of the organization. in the organization, sometimes employee loses the energy of working then the manager need to provide motivate them. Organizations may drive people to perform better by using remuneration, work-life balance, performance-based pay, and performance assessments (Knies, 2016). They may also encourage their employees by exhibiting empathy, avoiding disputes, recognizing differences, listening reflectively, promoting effectiveness, and dealing with resistance. Josita farm can motivate employeesto increase the performance of the organization. motivation may be economical and noneconomical. For the employee, the organization apprised the employee that is the one kind of motivation on the other hand providing extra facilities is another motivation.
Opportunity createsan organization for the employee of the organization. the organizational culture, framework of the organization, communication, environment, etc create opportunities for the employee for creating opportunities (Al, 2020). It may promote collaboration, autonomy, communication, involvement, information sharing, and decision-making engagement. Employees may take advantage of these chances, improving their performance and the success of the organization.
This is another HR model. The model is used for increasing organizational productivity by the employee. Here 5ps means process, practices, programs, policies, and philosophy. The 5ps HR model is presented
The process is the method, style, and structure of the organizational work. in the process, the HR department determines the organizational operational style that employees can follow (Xie et al ., 2018). Josia farm can improve productivity by determining the process of the organizational operation and train up employees based on the process.
The organization needs to practice the organizational rules and regulations. In the organization, there are many rules and regulations the employee of the organization needs to maintain the rules and regulations that improve the organizational productivity. Jobsite farms can improve the rules and regulations for the employee to follow.
The organization need introduces different types of programs such as productivity program, communication programs, and operational programs that help the employee understand organizational objectives and goals (Han et al., 2020). Jobsite can arrange different types of programs that help to increase organizational productivity.
Policies are the guideline of the organization that how the organization run in the market. the organization at first set some rules and regulations of the organization. Jobsite farms can create policies and follow them for developing organizational performance.
Philosophy is the set of guidelines and themes of the organization that follows for organizational operation. Philosophy is the core thing of the organization that motivates an organizational employee (Fan et al ., 2021). Jobsite is the farm that needs set philosophy for organizational performances.
Josita is an organization that can not gain proper productivity of the organization. the organization can improve the daily tasks by following some HR models and theories. There are lots of models and theories but in this report mainly two models are used in Josita farm.
The standards casual model is the chain model and the model considers all things of the organization. the model collects feedback from all organizational departments of the organization. this is a very effective model in the organization. The linear sequence is the overall strategy, HR strategy, HR practices, HR outcomes, internal performance, and financial performance. The overall strategy is that of the organization itself, which then influences and informs HR strategy (Mahmood and Hussein, 2020). The HR strategy then leads to the development of practices for meeting its aims, which are the subsequent HR outcomes.
Overall strategies
The model considersthe overall strategies of the organization. Josita is a food-producing and distributing company in the UK market. the organization can get benefit from this model. Because the organization can know all things about the organization.
This model work based on the HR strategies of the organization. Jobsite farm benefited by preparing good HR strategies for the organization.
Here the organization has to practice the HR strategies of the organization. the organization when practices the HR strategies the organizational productivity will be increased.
By practicing HR strategies the organization getsa good outcome from the employee. Because the HR strategies drive the organization's success of the organization.
The model work in all the department of the organization. so when all departments of the organization developed and finally the internal performance of the organization increased (Eyni et al., 2021). When internal performances increased organizational productivity increased.
The organization's financial performance is so much visible in the organization. the organization expresses the organizational performance in digits such as gross profit, net profit, unit of production, etc.
The model shows that the organizational all things that motivate to organization improve the quality of work. The model portrays an underlying chain that begins with the business plan and windups with fiscal performance. According to this approach, human resource is only useful if its method corresponds to the business strategy, which is the side with the best-fit hypothesis (Paczkowski et al., 2014). Besides, human resource habits follow social resource plans. They include training, compensation, appraisal, hiring, and education. Such practices result in particular results like commitment, engagement, and quality output. on the other hand, the model work with all things whichis why it can focus on single things properly and long-term process.
HR value chain model is the activities of HR, outcome, and contribution of the HR of the organization. here the organizational employee inputs the activities of them and outputs the results of the organization and finally calculates the performance of the organization.
Here all employee responsibilities of the organization are included. Josita farm can apply this model in the organization. here the organization included the HR plan, employee recruitment, and selection, training, organizational internal mobility, compensation, benefits, etc. when Josita farm prepares all activities of the organization will be successful (Gereffiand Fernandez-Stark, 2016). In the case study, the farm can not produce and provide more services to the organization. but the model helps to good activities of the organization. that is the most important.
This is the second step of the model. Josita farm can arrange the all outcomes of the organization. here will be included the employee engagement, retention, absence, performance, and working cost of the organization. the organization need when engaging people more in the organization will be developed and ensure the productivity of the organization.
The organization measure the HR contribution in this step of the organization. here the organization shows the net profit, ratio, market share, and total assets of organization. That help to understand the HR contribution of the organization (Nagy et al., 2018). this is the financial way to show the performance of the organization Jhosita farm can measure its profits assets and others tools of the organization. if the organization does not satisfy of the organization then the organization can make new activities of the organization.
Josita farm produces food and distributesit to the customers. The organization mainly sells its products online. The organizational demand increased during the pandemic and recruiting employeesthrough online interviews and ultimately the productivity of the organization decreased. In this report there are many HR models are used for developing organizational productivity. All models are good for increasing productivity. In this section I suggest two models the organization should use in the organization. The first one is the HR value chain model.
There are lots of reasons why choosing the model. The model work with three steps. In the first step, the organization's HR activities included all things of the organization. here the model of the organization create a good HR plan and collects employee according to the demand of the organization (Wirtz, 2014). then the organization trains the employee with related tasks. Josita farm is the food producing and online operating is the main task so all employees can divide into two groups such as producing food and operating online. Then provide train up. Then the organization fixed employee compensation and benefits. There are crucial parts of the HR department. Because employees are motivated by this. So fair compensation and benefits must be determined. Finally, employee mobility helps to right employee in right place. That helps to gain the proper objective of the organization. Josita can develop the HR department through HR activity.
Then, the outcome is the step of the involvement of employees, retention, absence, and performance. Here Josita farm sees the outcome of the activity. This is the step that helps the organization know employee performance (Ofosu-Budu et al., 2013). Such when employees are more involved in the organization and complete their tasks cordially it is a sign of the success of the organization. Josita farm should apply the model in its organization.
The performance here the organization can know the performance of the organization. most of the performance indicator is financial so the owner can easily understand such as net profit, total assets, market share, market growth, etc. this way the organization determine the performance of the organization. that help to organize such and find out the gap of the success.
Lastly recommended model is the AMO HR model. This is the model that helps the success of the organization. in this report, Josita farm's new employees are not qualities that’s why the productivity of the organization decreased. This model helps the organization. in this model at the first build up the ability of the organization. here create a good employee group. Building employee groups by selecting good employees, checking the quality of the employee, and providing appropriate training to the employee (Kamoche et al., 2015). After completing building good staff the organization needs to motivate them. Because the employee of the organization lost the energy to work the organization provides financial and nonfinancial motivation for keeping the productivity of the organization. lastly, this model creates opportunities for the employee. Here the organization creates scope for developing personal development, the scope of a higher post, etc.
The two models are so much more effective for Josita farm. The organization overcomes the present situation through those models in the organization.
The study prepare based on managing people. The employee is the key part of the organization that’s why all organizations need proper management of the employee. this study shows some models that help Josita farm to overcome the present situation of the organization. especially if the organization is not benefited from using the AMO HR model and HR value chain model.
