Similarly, there are some preset responses that the subconscious mind sets off in various body parts after coming across and processing an input to match the stored response. Destructive emotions like hostility, retaliation, resistance, miserliness, stress, envy, worry, fear, rage, bitterness, lacking faith, restlessness, sadness, and sorrow are often tolerated by many individuals (Wang, Susie, et al. 30). When these kinds of emotions are harbored for an extended period, they can negatively impact a persons physical and mental health. People know few techniques for letting emotions out, and those only offer momentary respite. Suppressing emotions and sentiments is one strategy. After repressing emotions, one presents a placid front but simmers underneath. The situation gets worse if the feeling is hidden and triggered. The most effective method for releasing oneself from the control of unpleasant emotions is to observe them as an objective observer. It is undeniably true that for most individuals, freedom is represented by other, less ethereal, and more concrete notions and concepts, such as physical boundaries, a sense of belonging, or the desire to reside in a particular location. Franz Grillparzer claimed that a man could only be created as an enslaved person or a free person by the power of his intellect (Yeager 80). It was evident that people enjoy a much higher standard of living in democratic countries than in those where a dictator governs everyones actions with an iron hand. However, the simple act of residing in a democracy does not automatically grant ones freedom. Simply put, a person who is a victim of the political and social system in place is more accessible than a person who, no matter the circumstances, believes that they can live independently of norms or social pressure (Melinder 120).
In the current situation, everybody can design their prisons; as long as this happens, it does not matter where a person lives. As an alternative, it might be claimed that anyone can construct a wall around themselves using only their heart and thoughts, even if they were born in a country with a relatively liberal culture (Mohammad). Strong barriers and fences must be used to ensure that they cannot be breached under any circumstances. Therefore, a person who believes in themselves, dreams, imagines, experiments, reads, loves, and hopes, is capable of producing, and makes an effort to comprehend, regardless of where they live, is free.
Freedom starts inside of oneself. A person is exercising their freedom if they can feel, be loved, fall in love, dream, look for alternative points of view in their lives, rationalize both positive and constructive criticism, see both sides of an issue, or scream out their most profound feelings (Tsai 203). More than that, one is genuinely free by being confident in their own company in their mind. It barely matters what the outside world tells us, what any ruling party tries to convince us of, or how much power others seek over us. A person has a variety of emotions in their soul and heart.
The use of magic words and phrases is the next strategy. Any positive thoughts that can help someone feel better should be spoken out to them while they are feeling down. Simple sentences have the power to rewire neural pathways. And one has to accept the emotions that are repressed. Sit down, close your eyes, and take a few deep breaths. Then, scan your body for any unpleasant emotions, and give them your full attention for a while. Observing the emotion is necessary before expressing it. The final stage is to put everything on paper. Although fairly ancient, this method is quite effective (Rico et al. 450). For at least 15 minutes, one must write down anything on their mind. At first, it may seem pointless or foolish, and one may consider it a silly move. But after a few minutes, it would be possible to understand the fundamentals of such limited beliefs.
